Setting Up VLC Media Player

1. Visit VideoLan Website: videolan.org

2. Click on the Download

3. After installing, select Finish after making sure Run VLC media player is checked

This allows VLC to run at least once so that the steps below actually work.

If you didn't run VLC at least once, just open it through your applications list.

4. Close VLC then Right-Click any video file, choose Open With then Choose Another App

5. Select VLC and then Always

The video will automatically open and any video files with the extension of your video will be associated with VLC.

Fix: If VLC doesn't show up in Suggest Apps

1. Select Choose an App on Your PC instead

2. Find the VideoLan folder in Program Files

3. Click VLC folder then click on the VLC application

4. Select Always in the pop-up and the video will open automatically
